Harrison pays $1,500 to join England Under-21 team

The NYC FC winger remained stuck in traffic on his way to JFK airport

NOTIZIE ENGLAND UNDER-21 HARRISON / This is a funny moment that must be reported but I can imagine Jack Harrison’s mood when he missed his flight to England

The NYC FC starlet is one of the players called up from the England Under-21 coach. Harrison was really surprised to see his name on the list of those called up for the international matches and expressed his enthusiasm through the official portal of his club.

“I am so happy to join my national team. It’s an honor to represent my country. I couldn't imagine this would happen when I decided to move to the United States. It’s a special moment for me.”

This is really a special moment for the youngster who lived a scary experience right after having rejoiced for his called up.

The 20-year-old NYC FC winger was meant to leave New York on Sunday night. He was returning to the Big Apple after the draw in the away match against Chicago Fire but as he confirmed to 'The Sun' something unexpected happened.

“When we arrived in New York I went back home to pack my bags before heading to JFK. However, I remained stuck in traffic. It was terrible and I missed my flight.

I didn’t know what to do…I tried to contact the FA but no one answered because it was night over there.

Therefore, I decided to book the first flight out on Monday morning.

I paid $1,500 to fly to London in order to join my teammates there. I thought this was the best thing to do.”
