Wenger, UEFA Champions League isn’t what it used to be

The coach of the Gunners criticizes the most important international competition for clubs

WENGER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ARSENAL / Is Arsene Wenger criticizing the UEFA Champions League because his Arsenal failed to qualify to the competition after 19 years? Probably this is the case but the expert French coach firmly believes that the most important international competition for clubs is not as attractive as it used to be.

The Frenchman has released an interview to 'ESPN FC' stating the albeit he feels privileged to have played this competition for decades he is not excited anymore watching the Group Stage.

“There are not many intyeresting games in the Group Stage. Maybe just one or two a week.It definitely lost attraction power as confirmed by the audience.

However, I am proud of having played some 200 matches in the UEFA Champions League so far.”
