The Barca boss needs to work hard to emulate the coach of the ‘Blancos’
VALVERDE BARCELONA ZIDANE REAL MADRID / The battle between Barcelona and Real Madrid goes on and on. Although in the past summer the Blaugrana have lost one of their big stars, Neymar Jr., Valverde's team started this season on the right path. After Barcelona's convincing Champions League win over Juventus, the Spanish giant is collecting victories in La Liga as well.
On the other side, Real Madrid is struggling a bit more this year. After a few sensational seasons in which Zinedine Zidane's team collected local and international trophies, the beginning of this 2017-18 campaign seems to be tougher for the 'Blancos.
Today, Real Madrid will face Betis Sevilla at the Bernabeu Stadium to collect vital three points for their future in La Liga. On Tuesday, Barcelona disintegrated Eibar 6-1, with Messi that scored 4 goals. Now, the Blaugrana are at the top of the league with 15 points in five matches. Real Madrid is currently uncomfortably sitting in the fifth position with eight points. Although Zinedine Zidane's guys have played a match less than their main rivals, the 'Blancos' don't seem to be as solid as the previous years and they are also experiencing a few tactical issues.
Can Valverde match Zidane's success?
It will not be easy for the Barca boss. He is currently training a top team but after Ousmane Dembelè's injury, his side doesn't look great as it was in the last decade. Valverde must be able to perfectly manage his current roster and pick some other key player in the January transfer window. His starting 11 seems to be good enough to compete but it is not adequate to make history.
