Wayne Rooney admits drink-driving

Everton’s star has appeared in court

EVERTON ROONEY ENGLAND / Former England captain has admitted drink-driving. According to 'BBC sports', the British star was arrested on September 1st and he was banned from driving for two years. Reportedly, Rooney must perform 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order. He also got a £170 fine.

Right after the decision of the court was released, the Everton footballer wanted to apologize to his family and his current club.

“I was driving while over the legal limit and I want to apologize for that. I have already spoken to my family, my manager and everyone at Everton FC. I also say sorry to all the fans who supported me throughout my career.

I accept the sentence of the court.”

Wayne Rooney moved back to Everton from Manchester United last summer. The former England captain had a brilliant career so far and returned to his beloved team after having played for the Reds for a long time.
