The Frenchman seems not to be happy in Rome
TRANSFER MARKET ROMA GONALONS LYON / Maxime Gonalons is definitely one of the best singings that Roma sealed during the past transfer window. The sporting director of the giallorossi, Monchi, exploited a misunderstanding between the player and Lyon's President as well as his contract that was set to expire last June to approach and sign the experienced midfielder.
However, a couple fo months after his relocation to Rome, the player seems to be unhappy and probably Eusebio Di Francesco noted that Gonalons is not totally integrated with his teammates during the training sessions. These could be the reasons why Maxime Gonalons was not involved in the first three Serie A matches that Roma has played as well as in the big Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.
In a recent interview with 'Canal Football Club', Maxime Gonalons unveiled that his heart is still in France:
“It was really difficult to leave Lyon. This is the club in which I grew up. People know my love for that club. My desire was to be like Francesco Totti but for the French side. I wanted to close my career there. Lyon is everything for me. My primary desire is to return to Lyon and the French club didn't close the doors to this possibility.”
