EXCLUSIVE: Bonato: “Jankto and Berardi are ready for a big team”

Former Udinese and Sassuolo sporting director spoke with Calciomercato.it

TRANSFER MARKET EXCLUSIVE BONATO / He was linked with Roma last summer but the former Sassuolo and Udinese sporting director Nereo Bonato is studying hard to restart and join a new project. Calciomercato.it had the pleasure to interview him in reference to the recent transfer market window.

Is Berardi ready for a big? Berardi's career is going well so far. Last year, he picked up an injury that stopped him for a long time but I believe that this year he will restart on a positive path. Sassuolo's future will depend on Berardi's performances. he has improved temperamentally and technically. He is an important player. As I said, this could be his year.

Can Napoli be Berardi's next team? Of Course, it could be. Napoli plays with a 4-3-3, a tactical scheme that he knows very well. But I believe that whatever big Italian or foreign clubs could be ok for his definitive maturation.

Is the gap with Juventus reduced? Milan is the club who moved the most in the past transfer window to compete for the Champions League. But Napoli has confirmed all its best players to consolidate a team who did well so far. Inter did a good job too. They decided to purchase players who knew the Serie A already like Vecino and Valero. This was a smart move. Juventus lost Bonucci. He was an important player for the Bianconeri. Their defensive line is not as solid as it was without him. However, I believe that Juventus is still the favorite team to win.

What do you think about the reduction of the transfer window? It would be right to do so because the clubs need to start the season with a definitive roster. Even because the players are not totally focussed if the transfer window is still open. The summer window should be closed by the end of July or early August. The winter session shouldn't b eliminated but reduced.
