The Colombian striker should replace Schick
TRANSFER MARKET NAPOLI ZAPATA / Zapata was really close to joining Torino at the beginning of this transfer market window. The Colombian striker improved his skills and value by playing for Udinese in the past two seasons. The player is eager to stay in Italy although Premier League clubs (Everton and Burnley) are interested in signing him. Serious offers have arrived from France and Turkey as well.
According to Calciomercato.it, Fenerbahce wants the player on loan with an obligation to buy for €10 million. Zapata was offered a two-year contract for €2.5m per season.
Olympique Marseille, instead, has made a €16 million offer but Napoli gently refused it!
Sampdoria is the most likely destination for Duvan Zapata. The managers of the Blucerchiati are in Milan to negotiate the acquisition of the striker with his agents.
Fernando Villarreal, Zapata's agent was in Naples to talk with sporting director Giuntoli and reached Milan shortly. The agent stated: “The two clubs are not in agreement at this time. Napoli's asking price for Zapata is €25 million but Sampdoria is not willing to spend more than €20m. The Blucerchiati would include a percentage on Zapata's future resell.”
