Atletico Madrid, EXCLUSIVE Ruiz: “A clear penalty but Roma scared”

ATLETICO MADRID ROMA EXCLUSIVE RUIZ /  A very tough match for the giallorossi in their 2017-18 UEFA Champions League debut. Atletico Madrid dominated the scene albeit there are positive signals for Eusebio Di Francesco too. The point collected by Roma is definitely positive as well as the brilliant performance of the Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson. 

Calciomercato.it interviewed Cadena Cope's journalist Antonio Ruiz who stated: “It's an unbelievable final result. Atletico Madrid deserved to win. I didn't know Alisson but I can certainly say that he was brilliant. 

In the first-half, the match was balanced but in the second 45' minutes Atletico Madrid dominated the scene creating several opportunities to score. Roma was scared by the Spanish aside. Simeone's team is experiencing difficulties in scoring goals but they are hungry for glory. They want the Champions League after the two finals lost. In order to change the pace of the game, Di Francesco replaced a striker with a defender. This is something that we call fear in Spain.”

In reference to a possible penalty for Roma Antonio Ruiz admitted that the referee made a mistake.

“That was a clear penalty. Vietto touched the ball with his hand. But in reference to Perotti's case during the second-half, I believe that the Argentine was just hoping for a contact in the box. The referee did well in that case. 

Maria Gimenez linked with Roma? He has renewed a contract until 2020. Also, there's a very high buyout clause included in his contract.

Griezmann leaving in January? I hope and I think that he will stay with Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.”
