Roma, Palmieri on his way out from the Italian capital

The Brazilian fullback is back in shape but his future should be far away from Rome

PALMIERI ROMA JUVENTUS LIVERPOOL / He played his last match the day Francesco Totti retired. That afternoon, the Roma fans experienced mixed feelings. Their beloved captain ended his professional career as a player, Perotti scored a pivotal goal to grant the Champions League access, and Emerson Palmieri suffered a rupture of the ligament of his knee. Three main events that have changed the history of the Lupi in just 90 minutes.

Nowadays, six months after his injury, Emerson Palmieri is fit again. Yesterday, he played a match with the youth team and from the next match, he should be available to play with the first team as well. Finally, Roma's fans can see their adored fullback on the field.

Although the Brazilian is fit and recovered, rumors are stating that he could leave the Italian capital soon. Roma is thinking to trade him out in order to cash approximately €25 million. His position is now covered by a superstar, Kolarov. Alexsandar amazed everyone with his temperament and class. The Serbian boosted Roma's quality on the left flank and it wouldn't be easy for Palmieri to sit him on the bench.

Current transfer market scenarios see the Brazilian defender moving to Juventus or Liverpool. These two teams are reportedly deeply interested in the former Palermo guy.

Is Roma willing to sell Palmieri in Italy?

A straight answer would be NO! It's never a good idea to strengthen a team that is domestically competing for the same title. Juventus needs a left-back and Palmieri could be the right player to pick. Although the Bianconeri would be happy to welcome the Brazilian in Turin, Monchi is thinking to trade him somewhere else. Liverpool's coach Jurgen Klopp is in love with Roma's defender. The British side approached the Lupi last summer as well but his attempt to sign the player failed. There's a good relationship between the giallorossi and the Reds, especially after the Salah win/win deal sealed last July.

Although Roma must rule on Palmieri's future, Monchi and Di Francesco could even decide to keep the player in order to try him on the right defensive flank. Alessandro Florenzi could play a bit more offensively, while Bruno Peres is the only survivor of that role so far. The Dutch talent Rick Karsdorp will be out until the end of the season and who knows when he will be fit again to demonstrate his qualities. In light of that, Palmieri could play as a right-back replacing Peres sometimes.
