Italian legend Andrea Pirlo to join Chelsea soon

The fans of the Blues are sure. The Italian Maestro will join the club to replace Emenalo

NEWS CHELSEA PIRLO EMENALO / On November 5, Andrea Pirlo retired from football after 22 years of an astonishing career. The Italian Maestro decided that his adventure as a player was over and saluted football fans around the world form the Yankee stadium in New York. The playmaker entered the field right at the end of the MLS playoff match against Columbus Crew SC to receive a deserved standing ovation from the NYC FC fans. Calciomercato.it reported Pirlo's words and highlighted that the Italian star is ready to begin a new chapter of his life.

Simultaneously, on the other side of the world, Michael Emenalo, Chelsea's technical director, decided to resign after over a decade spent in West London. The Nigerian professional played a prominent role within the club and collected several trophies during his time there. The Blues released an official statement thanking the 52-year-old for his dedication and professionalism demonstrated since 2007.

“Michael Emelo contributed to a period of unprecedented successes with the first team and the Academy. Since 2011, he was the technical director of the club leading the international scouting network.”

Michael Emenalo expressed his gratitude to Chelsea as well stating that “It has been a very difficult decision. I had the pleasure to work close some of the most talented persons in the world and I am very proud of the results obtained.”

Nowadays, rumors are mounting in the U.K. Chelsea's fans are sure that Andrea Pirlo will join the club soon. Speculations intensified right after the playmaker announced his retirement and consequent departure from New York. The Italian star could replace Emenalo as a technical director, a role that he could cover thanks to his unbelievable experience as a player around the world. 

Pirlo has been spotted watching Chelsea matches in the past and Antonio Conte could push Roman Abramovich to hire the Italian.
