PSG under investigation by UEFA in Nyon

Last Thursday, the managers of the French giants traveled to Switzerland recalled by UEFA

PSG FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY UEFA / UEFA has opened a formal investigation to understand PSG's recent expenses in the past transfer market window. According to the French outlet 'Equipe', the meeting was planned previously as a routine control that each club must undergo.

UEFA goes ahead investigating on PSG's crazy spending

The meeting between UEFA and PSG took place in Nyon and it was attended by Jean-Claude Blanc, PSG's General Manager, Victoriano Melero (Secretary General of the Club), Philippe Boindrieux (Deputy Chief Executive Officer), and Benoït Muller ( Chief Financial Officer).

At the beginning of September, UEFA began investigating on PSG's crazy spending in the summer transfer window. The procedure was practically mandatory after that PSG's owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi sealed a double massive deal for Neymar (paying his buyout clause €222 million to Barcelona) and Kylian Mbappè with an operation structured on loan with an obligation to purchase for €180m (add-ons included). 

Recently, UEFA stated that “in the next few months the responsible committee will evaluate the documents received by the French side.“

In 2014, PSG was already sanctioned in reference to a contract stipulated with Qatar's tourism office that UEFA assessed to be worth more than its real given price. In that case, the French side paid a fine but the current situation could be more serious. The club could lose points in the standings and if other violations will be certified over time, PSG could even be kicked off from the International competitions.
