The Colombian striker moved to Sampdoria this summer
SAMPDORIA ZAPATA NAPOLI FERRERO / In the past transfer windows, Sampdoria sealed a last-minute deal with Napoli for Duvan Zapata. Massimo Ferrero committed to a €21 million fee to sign the Colombian striker who previously played with Napoli and Udinese.
A few weeks after his move to Sampdoria, the 26-year old striker unveiled what happened during the past summer:
"I was closed into a Hotel in Milan until the end of the negotiation. - said the player to 'Secolo XIX'.
I was praying for a positive ending of my acquisition. Ferrero kept his promise to sign me. Napoli was unfair with me. They treated me badly. If you believe that Zapata is worth a fortune so you should demonstrate an interest in the player. Instead, I was training alone for two months without playing a single friendly match.
Now, this bad situation is over and I am very happy."
Duvan Zapata spoke about his new coach Giampaolo as well.
"He is a coach with clear ideas. He knows what he wants and this is a key factor. I cannot compare Sarri to Giampaolo because, as I previously said, Napoli never gave me the possibility to train with the group."
