Barcelona, Bartomeu to add a “finishing touch”

The President of the Spanish giant wants the Champions League. He confirmed transfer moves in January

NEWS BARCELONA BARTOMEU / Barcelona's 2017-18 campaign started on the right path. Several football pundits were skeptically speaking about Valverde but nowadays the situation seems to be clear. Luis Enrique's departure has been perfectly absorbed by the roster and Valverde has been good enough to reshape a team that lost one of its jewels last summer, Neymar Jr

Currently, Barcelona is leading La Liga four points ahead of Valencia. Their historical rivals Real Madrid are already 10 points behind. The Spanish giant needs something more to properly compete in the Champions League though.

Barcelona's target is the Champions League. Bartomeu to make an effort to reach the glory

According to Barcelona's President Bartomeu, the club is monitoring the market to pursue some players in January. After having passed through a difficult summer, the Blaugrana need a “finishing touch” to win the Champions League 2017-18. Although last summer they missed out on a number of players such as Liverpool's Coutinho, PSG's Di Maria, and Atletico Madrid's Griezmann, Bartomeu has confirmed that Barca's Sporting Director is planning the appropriate strategies to close some deals.

Coutinho remains a top priority for the Spanish side but reportedly, Barcelona seems to be interested in Mesut Ozil as well. Arsenal offensive midfielder has his contract close to the expiration date. Ozil will be able to sign a new agreement with whatever teams since January 1, 2018. Barcelona could, therefore, wait until the summer to bring him in or pay a moderate few to the 'Gunner' to welcome the player in Spain in a couple of months.

Bartomeu knows what he wants. La Liga seems to be already marked with the Barcelona colors but the President and the fans are dreaming of the Champions League. The European stage is definitely more appealing and Messi wants to reach the top of the world again before hoping to amazed the crowds during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
